Niltze... Could you delete Nahuatl or replace it with content? Right now it is on the list of requested articles, but looks like it is non-blank. Sj 05:40, 16 May 2004 (UTC)

Lamentablamente, no tengo tiempo libre. Saludos. -- Youssefsan 12:33, 27 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Hola

Felicitaciones

Niltze. Sorry for reverting that change. I thought it was vandalism. Normally when text is placed all in capitals, it is just vandalism. I checked a few of the words using Google, and none of them appeared in any searches, so I assumed they were not real words, but now I have spent more time trying to find Nahuatl words online, I realise this is probably just a reflection that there are not many Nahuatl websites, and not that the words are not real. I have replaced them in the article (without the capitals). Thank you for seeing my error, or tlazocamati I should say. :) Angela 19:09, 18 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Hi Piolinfax

Could you help me to translate some english words to Nahuatl - please:

By the way, why are there so many words for some of the numbers. Just found Nahuatl Numbers Lesson 2:

  • 1: Ce, ze, centetl
  • 2: ohontetl omentin omenti omen ome ometzin onteme ontetl oontetl ohontetl omenti.
  • 3: eei, eintin, ei, eixtin, etetl.
  • 4: nahui, nahuin, nahuinti, nahuintin, nahuixti, nahuixtin, nauhtetl.

Which one is normally used? I know that all Nahuatl words get prefix and suffix according to Nahuatl grammar, but there still seems to be a little to "many" words to understand for me.

PS:

I have found these dictionaries, but they couldn't help me translating the above words:

Hi Piolinfax

Thanks for your help. I have now made the start of the number articles.

I have some (more) questions regarding number and glyphs.

The first question is - have the Nahuatl language a glyphs or word for zero? I have only been able to find one address - Before this address, I had the impression that Nahuatl language did not have a zero. Is this Nahuatl zero "wrong"?: izcalli(Izcalli, the Nahuatl word for "House of re-awakening").org: Numbers Quote: "...[Nahuatl: - maybe Coh too?:] Koh - Zero..."

Do Nahuatl language not use a "bar" for the number five 5 - I have only been able to find use of "dots" up till nine 9? Mayan language do use a "bar" for five 5.

Is it possible that you or someone else, can or have taken pictures of Nahuatl glyphs (for example of the numbers), that they are willing to give to Wikipedia under the GFDL (GNU Free Documentation License). Here are more information about GPL or more restricted license: Copyrights: Quote: "...Image guidelines Images and photographs, like written works, are subject to copyright. Someone owns them unless they have been explictly placed in the public domain. Images on the internet need to be licensed directly from the copyright holder or someone able to license on their behalf. In some cases, fair use guidelines may allow a photograph to be used....".

  • Supplementary:
  • James Logan High School Mural: Concept of Zero Quote: "...The Maya also had a symbol for zero that was even earlier than the Hindu symbol...zero place holder. It looks like a shell or football..."
  • calendar-mayan Qoute: "...What is the Tzolkin?...0. Ahau..."
  • Picture: Qoute: "...Zero Mi..."
  • Maya civilization Quote: "...The Maya system uses only three symbols for zero (a shell-shaped glyph)..."
    • Ciphers and Civilizations By Blair Moffett Quote: "...The Hindus are also the only older people besides the Mayans who are known to have employed the concept of zero in their mathematics. In fact, our culture obtained the zero only because Arab scholars in Bagdad in the seventh century AD translated a Hindu text on astronomy and thus rediscovered the zero..."

Niltze! Mot&#333ca Āmoxtlācatl.

¡Hola!

  • las vocales largas se escriben con una raya horizontal encima (ā, ē, ī, ō);
  • las vocales cortas se escriben sin ninguna indicación (a, e, i, o);

Y claro, no nahuatl, sino nāhuatl.

Hi Piolinfax

Could you please change the spanish and english text, so it refers to the language links in the left side in the box "other languages". I am not fluent in spanish, and are therefore not able to translate both phrases at once: Template:StartMessage.

With kind regards, Glenn 07:07, 10 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I am currently trying to add as many interwiki links to the w:India page. Would you be kind enough to make a new page for India (a sentence would be enough), and link it up to w:India? Thanks, w:User:Nichalp 16:58, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

saludos --Mnts 08:29, 23 July 2005 (UTC)

Hao ihuicpa in calixatl caxtilcopa.
